A Middle Eastern Sojourn: Jordan and Israel

3 –14 November, 2019 | 12 Days/11 Nights

Jordan and Israel, somewhat underrated destinations for the modern traveler, are slowly finding their way on to the tourist map. Join Wonderful World on this 12-day ultimate Jordan and Israel tour, crafted just for you. The hotels have been carefully chosen to ensure that we are centrally located and within charming environs, and, most importantly, do not end up spending a bomb!

Jordan is a land of utter beauty and contrasting landscape – fertile valley and desert canyon, rock castle and salty lake. For the adventurous soul, there is 4×4 desert safari, rock climbing, and hiking. For those looking to sit back and unwind, there is the Dead Sea and its many spa facilities.

Stroll around Jordan’s capital and the country’s most populous city, Amman, and stop for sheesha or delicious kebabs. Marvel at the sixth-century mosaic map of the Holy Land at the Church of St. Georges in Madaba. Spend time admiring the magnificence of the Rose City, or Petra. Named one of the New 7 Wonders of the World in 2007, Petra was also selected by the Smithsonian Magazine as one of the ‘28 Places to See Before You Die’. Stay overnight at a Bedouin camp. Float in the world’s saltiest waters at the Dead Sea – even the most nervous non-swimmer will float!

For the curious visitor, Israel does not fail to excite and surprise – the breathtaking views of its valleys and hills, the ancient walls of Nazareth and Jerusalem, the calmness of the Dead Sea. Despite its political tensions, Israel has attracted a record number of tourists from all over the world in 2018, and the numbers are only expected to rise. Full of history and Biblical references, Israel leaves you with a calmness that lingers long after you leave it behind.

Spend a full day exploring Jerusalem and its sites, sacred to the Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike. Visit Bethlehem, the biblical birthplace of Jesus and a major Christian pilgrimage destination, and Masada, an ancient fortress in southern Israel’s Judean Desert. Tease your taste buds at Tel Aviv – a foodie’s heaven. Explore Galilee in northern Israel, and familiarize yourself with sites recorded in the New Testament – Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, and others.
